In social media, EVERYTHING should start with a plan!
If you don’t know why your business is on Instagram, or not on Snapchat, then how can you use the platform correctly? If you don’t understand what your audience is looking for, how will you know how to connect with them? You need a social media marketing strategy to tell you.
What is a Social Media Marketing Strategy?
A social media marketing strategy is your plan. It’s your road map. It’s the thing that guides all of your actions.
It will also tell you if you are meeting your goals.
An effective strategy starts with your GOALS! What are you trying to accomplish with your social media? If you don’t have goals, you can’t measure success (see my very first sentence above).
Next, you need to put the time into market research: Who, Where and Why? Once you figure that out, you’ll know who can help you reach your goals.
Finally, you’ll take what you’ve learned and create social media content that meets your goals.
It sounds really simple, but take my word for it… it’s no easy process. Putting the sweat and tears in now, however, will save you a ton of time in the future.
