Development: More than $58.5 million in new construction started in the Huntsville area since March 4, according to building permits pulled by Southern Exposure Information. Overall, 240 permits were issued in Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties. Huntsville issued 97 permits totaling $23.4 million. Madison County issued 75 for $17.5 million, Madison 57 totaling $12.5 million and Decatur issued 11 permits totaling $5 million.

Big Spring Park: The Huntsville City Council has greenlit a contract with Bostick Landscape Architects to spearhead the design process for incorporating the former City Hall Administration Building site into the park after demolition.

Summit: Mayor Battle announced the return of the GeoResilience Summit to Huntsville. Hosted by the National Geospatial-Intelligence  Agency and GEOHuntsville, the summit will provide a day of informative panels along with a free student career fair.
