Downtown: Events drew 15 million visitors to Huntsville’s downtown last year according to data from Downtown Huntsville, Inc. That is a 3% year-over-year increase over 2022 and a 5.2% year-over-year increase from 2021.

Investment: Keiretsu Forum, one of the largest global networks of angel investors, recently hosted information sessions at UAH. Keiretsu plans to expand its operations into the Huntsville market to bridge the gap between founders and funders and support early-stage fundraising. The forum, which boasts over $1 billion invested in more than 1,400 startups, is known for its substantial investment sizes, typically ranging from $1 million to $5 million.

Education

HCS: The Huntsville school board unanimously approved a Teachers’ Bill of Rights. The Teachers’ Bill of Rights requires every teacher to have an approved classroom management plan and affords teachers the right to exclude disruptive students from their classrooms in certain circumstances.
